SURAT : In a significant boost to India’s indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities, Surat-based defence technology company insideFPV has successfully tested its homegrown kamikaze FPV drone, ‘Advik’, at an altitude of approximately 18,000 feet in Ladakh, demonstrating its ability to withstand electronic warfare and communication jamming.
According to a report published in local newspaper , tested in the presence of the Indian Army, the drone reportedly maintained uninterrupted flight and communication links despite active electronic warfare systems. Following the successful trial, the advanced drone has been handed over to the Indian Army, marking a major milestone for the Surat-based company.
The achievement assumes significance as electronic jamming has emerged as one of the biggest challenges for FPV drones in modern warfare. Conflicts such as the Russia-Ukraine war have demonstrated how enemy electronic warfare systems can disrupt communication between drones and their operators, rendering expensive equipment ineffective.
To address this vulnerability, insideFPV has developed an indigenous communication link rather than depending entirely on imported, ready-made components.
