Who we are

What we collect, and why

• Submission forms (deals, foodie spots, events, vacancies): your name, WhatsApp number and optional email, used only to verify and follow up on your submission.
• News tips: identifying yourself is optional. If you share contact details with a tip, only the news team sees them, they're used solely to verify the story, and they are never published or shared.
• Daily Brief & newsletter: phone/email, used to deliver the brief you subscribed to.
• Insider Pass & bookings: name, phone, payment reference (UPI UTR), used to activate and manage your membership or booking.
• Technical data: standard server logs (IP, user-agent) for security and rate-limiting.

What we never do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not share subscriber or tipster details with advertisers or any third party, except services we use to run the site (hosting, database, WhatsApp delivery) under their own safeguards.
• We do not run third-party ad trackers on this site.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to show, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, and withdraw consent (e.g. unsubscribe from the Daily Brief: reply STOP on WhatsApp or message us). We action requests within 30 days.

Retention & security

Data lives in access-controlled databases (Supabase) with row-level security; payment screenshots/UTRs are kept only as long as needed for accounting. We keep subscription contacts while your subscription is active and delete them on request.

The iamcity app

The iamcity iOS and Android app is covered by this policy. In addition to the above:

• Camera, photos and microphone: requested only at the moment you attach a picture or video to something you are posting (a listing, a Connect post, a Voice complaint). We never access them in the background, and the app works without granting them.
• Your phone number as your identity: bazaar chat, the job profile, matrimony and Spin and Win are keyed to your number so you can return to your own conversations and listings. Contact details are never shown publicly unless you choose to publish them, and matrimony contact is released only on an accepted interest.
• On-device profile: your name, number, area and email are remembered on the phone itself to prefill forms. This never leaves the device on its own.
• Notifications: if you allow them, we store a push token so we can send you city news. Turn them off any time in iOS or Android settings; deleting your account removes the token.
• Moderation: when you report or block content, we receive the report (what was reported, the reason, and any details you add) so our team can act on it within 24 hours.
• No third parties: the app contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no third-party trackers. It talks only to our own servers and our database provider (Supabase).

Deleting your account: open Profile in the app and tap Delete my account. That removes your posts, listings, submissions, bazaar chats, job and matrimony profiles and Spin and Win entries from our servers and clears the phone.
