The recovery has intensified the investigation, with Mumbai Crime Branch officials now probing the source of the weapons and identifying those allegedly involved in supplying them.
According to the available details, a case was registered with the Mumbai DCB CID on October 19 under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act. The seizure in Surat was carried out on the basis of leads developed during the investigation.
Police are continuing their inquiry to establish the origin of the firearms and determine whether more people were involved in the alleged conspiracy.
The shooting incident reportedly occurred around 7 pm on October 17 near Pushpa Park in Mumbai’s Juhu area, when Shroff’s car had stopped after he returned from playing football. A crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor when three men allegedly arrived on a motorcycle and fired five rounds at the vehicle.
