Surat Lawyer, Wife and Daughter Die in Uttarkashi Accident

Ashokbhai Patel had left Surat on October 31 with his wife Sudhaben, daughter Rutika, son Vedant and three other relatives for the Char Dham pilgrimage. The accident occurred on Thursday when the family was travelling towards Kedarnath.

According to reports, the Innova plunged nearly 300 metres into the gorge before landing in the river. Four people have reportedly died, while Vedant, 17, sustained serious injuries. Two women are still missing, according to the available information.

The tragedy has plunged the family’s neighbourhood in Surat into mourning. When a reporter visited their residence at Shivalik Residency, the house was found locked. A neighbour said the family had been sharing photographs and updates from their Gangotri visit.

They shared glimpses of their visit while in Gangotri. We were unaware that such a tragedy would strike them,” the neighbour said.
