Delete your account

In the app

Open Profile, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account. You confirm once, and the account is deleted straight away. You do not have to contact us and there is nothing to wait for.

On the website

Go to your account page and sign in the same way you originally signed up, phone number or email, then use Delete my account at the bottom. Same thing, same moment.

Signed up with Sign in with Apple in the app? The website has no Apple sign-in button, so use the email address tied to that account instead (your real address, or the private relay address if you chose to hide your email, both take a one-time code the same way). If Apple gave us no email at all for your account, there is nothing to sign in with on the website; use Delete my account in the app, or the route below.

If you cannot sign in

Lost access another way, or your Apple account has no email we can use? Message us on WhatsApp at +91 83200 62415 or email iamsuratcity@gmail.com from any address, telling us the phone number, the email, or the name on your profile, whichever you have. We verify it is yours and delete it within 30 days, usually the same week.

What happens to your posts

Everything you posted comes off the site immediately, and your personal details are wiped from those records: your name, phone number, email, WhatsApp number and social handles. What is left is an unpublished record with nobody attached to it, which is what lets us restore a listing if you ever delete by mistake.

This covers any listing or submission you made, in any section, including:

• Property, Bazaar, Tiffin, Classes and Wedding listings.
• Connect noticeboard posts.
• Magazine submissions.
• Your job profile, and anything posted in a section we have since withdrawn.

What is erased outright

• Your login, so the number can no longer sign in.
• Your saved profile: name, phone and email.
• Your notification token, so the app stops messaging you.
• Your chat identity and any newsletter or daily brief subscription.

What we keep, and why

• Basic server logs (IP and browser, no name attached) for up to 90 days, which is what lets us stop spam and abuse.
• Records we are required by Indian law to hold, such as invoices for anything you actually paid for. These are financial records, not a profile of you.
• App usage records (which screens an install opened, and for how long) are de-linked from you and stay only as anonymous counts; the raw records are deleted after about 13 months.

Nothing in either list is used to contact you or rebuild your account. We do not sell personal data to anyone, and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking services.
