Mumbai is facing another hot and humid day, with temperatures expected to approach 37 degrees Celsius and air quality turning moderate at several monitoring locations, even as the city’s overall AQI remained in the satisfactory category on Tuesday morning.
The India Meteorological Department has forecast mainly dry weather across Mumbai, Thane and Palghar over the next 24 hours. Skies are expected to remain largely clear, with some cloud cover during the day. The minimum temperature is likely to stay in the mid-20s, according to the forecast reported by Mid-Day.
The weather conditions follow a rain-free spell recorded at the city’s two main observatories. IMD observations for October 26 showed a minimum temperature of 26.2 degrees Celsius at Colaba and 22.5 degrees Celsius at Santacruz. Neither station recorded rainfall.
Daytime heat was more pronounced. Santacruz recorded a maximum temperature of 37.1 degrees Celsius, while Colaba recorded 35.7 degrees Celsius in the reported observations. The combination of high temperatures and humidity is expected to make afternoons uncomfortable, particularly for people working or travelling outdoors.
