Mumbai Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh weather warning for Mumbai, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds across the city over the next three hours.
The alert comes after heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Mumbai, disrupting road movement and affecting flight operations. While rain has eased in some areas, the latest warning suggests that another spell of unsettled weather could develop across the city.
The IMD has forecast gusty winds of 30-40 kmph, along with thunderstorms and lightning. The conditions could affect road and air travel if another spell of heavy rain develops.
Airline operations have also faced disruption due to the weather. IndiGo issued an advisory for passengers travelling through Mumbai, saying heavy rainfall was affecting flight operations at the city airport.
The airline warned that passengers could face longer waiting times and advised them to check their flight status through its website or app before leaving for the airport.
