The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) remained India's largest housing market in the July-September quarter, selling around 31,750 homes, even as residential sales across the country's top seven cities grew only modestly, according to Anarock Research data released on Monday.
MMR recorded the highest housing sales among the seven major cities, with the region and Bengaluru together accounting for 48 per cent of all homes sold during the quarter.
Across the seven cities, around 1,00,220 homes were sold in Q3 2026, a 3 per cent increase from 97,080 units in the corresponding quarter last year. The total sales value rose 2 per cent year-on-year to around Rs 1.55 lakh crore from Rs 1.52 lakh crore.
Anuj Puri, chairman of Anarock Group, said Hyderabad recorded the sharpest annual growth in housing sales at 15 per cent, followed by Bengaluru at 12 per cent and MMR at 5 per cent. The remaining four cities recorded year-on-year declines.
