The unique interiors are designed to give passengers a glimpse of Surat’s identity as the Diamond City as soon as they enter the coaches.
The metro coaches will showcase Surat’s globally recognised diamond industry through their interiors. The ceiling and elevated sections feature artistic designs inspired by various diamond cuts and ‘diamond facets’.
The project is set to become the first metro in India to feature a diamond-themed interior, offering passengers a distinct experience reflecting Surat’s identity as the Diamond City.
The seats have been designed to ensure passenger comfort, and CCTV cameras have also been installed. Surat set to get one of India’s most advanced metro systems
Surat’s public transport journey has evolved over centuries, from waterways, horse-drawn carriages and bullock carts to autorickshaws, city buses and the extensive BRTS network.
