Valsad records highest 1.5-inch rain in 24 hours: Ahmedabad gets 23.11 inches so far; rain forecast in 15 dis

No district in the state is expected to receive heavy rainfall today. However, light to moderate showers are likely in several parts of North, Central and South Gujarat.

Meanwhile, the state recorded a 1°C rise in maximum temperatures, indicating a slight increase in daytime heat despite the continuing rainfall activity.

Ahmedabad is likely to remain cloudy today, with one or two spells of rain expected. The city recorded 2.5 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours.

Since June 1, Ahmedabad has received 587 mm, or 23.11 inches, of seasonal rainfall. This is 74.9 mm above the normal rainfall for the period.

Temperatures increased across several parts of Kutch and North-Central Gujarat on August 17. Kandla recorded 34°C, up 0.6°C from 33.4°C a day earlier, while Kandla Airport recorded the highest temperature in the state at 34.4°C.
