Uproar at five-star hotel after wooden pieces found in cookies: Staff tell customer, ‘You cannot do this he

The customer said, “If this piece of wood had gone into a child’s mouth, it could have caused a serious injury.” Following the incident, a complaint was filed with the Surat Municipal Corporation’s Food Department. Officials collected samples and sent them for testing.

The customer said they visited SBC Cafe at the Marriott Hotel in Athwalines with friends at around 2.30 am on August 29.

According to the bill, two Indian Classic Teas worth Rs 750 and one Americano Coffee worth Rs 425 were ordered at table No. 19 at 2.36 am. A total bill of Rs 1,386.50, including GST, was paid.

The customer expressed anger over the incident, saying the wooden pieces were extremely sharp and dangerous.
