A phone call made by a cab driver proved to be a crucial lead for the Mumbai Police in tracing three accused in the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
According to the investigation details, the three accused had booked a cab to travel to Surat. The driver called the phone number used to make the booking, providing investigators with a vital link that eventually helped them track the suspects’ movements and arrest them at Kota railway station in Rajasthan.
The police used technical investigation to trace the cab driver, who reportedly told investigators that he had dropped all three suspects at Surat railway station.
Investigators subsequently analysed train schedules, reservation charts and technical inputs from Surat railway station to establish that the accused were travelling towards Rajasthan aboard the Pune-Jaipur Express.
The Mumbai Crime Branch contacted the Rajasthan Police, and a joint operation led to the arrest of all three accused at Kota railway station on Monday, a day after the firing incident.
