Surat to Get Second Khodaldham: ‘Annapurna Khodaldham’ Announced in Varachha After Antroli Project

Surat Khodaldham Project: Speculation over a second Khodaldham in the diamond city of Surat, after the world-famous Khodaldham at Kagvad in Saurashtra, has ended. A religious complex in Surat was formally announced during the Navratri festival. Named ‘Annapurna Khodaldham’, the project has brought fresh enthusiasm and devotion among the Patidar community and across South Gujarat. The Antroli project was announced earlier by Naresh Patel, president of the Kagvad Khodaldham Trust. With the new Varachha project, Surat will now get two Khodaldhams.

The announcement was made at the ‘Sheri Otlo Garba Mahotsav’ in Mota Varachha, in the presence of thousands of garba revellers and community leaders. As soon as ‘Annapurna Khodaldham’ was announced from the stage, the entire ground echoed with chants of ‘Jai Khodiyar’. Mukesh Patel, a well-known community leader, will oversee the construction as the chief visionary of the project, with the support of social leader Jayanti Eklara. A special preview of the proposed ‘Annapurna Khodaldham’ was also presented to the gathering.
