It has emerged that there were two bullets in the PSI’s pistol. One bullet became jammed, and the weapon fired while an attempt was being made to remove it. As a result, the second bullet loaded from below also became lodged at an angle.

In an automatic weapon, another round is loaded automatically after one bullet is fired. The same mechanism may have come into play in this incident. Suspecting a technical fault, police have seized the pistol and sent it to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for further investigation.

Immediately after the incident, Arvind was shifted to a private hospital. The bullet passed below his heart, pierced his abdomen and exited, causing serious damage to his small intestine.

Doctors performed emergency surgery between 11.30pm and midnight, removing and successfully separating the damaged section of the small intestine. Fortunately, the bullet did not damage his kidneys or any major blood vessels. His condition is now stable and he is out of danger.

Kapodra Police Inspector M. R. Solanki said the Kapodra Police Department would bear all expenses related to Arvindbhai Patel’s treatment. He added that if Arvindbhai requires any further medical treatment or assistance in the future, the police department will provide him with full support.
