The case was registered at Godadara police station following a complaint by Pramodkumar Singh, a social worker from the area. The complaint alleges that the person operating the Instagram account ‘iamchotayogijimaharaj’ circulated the video using threatening language, with the intention of defaming the BJP and disturbing public peace.
Police have registered an FIR under Sections 192, 353(1)(b) and 353(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The allegations are yet to be established through investigation.
The controversy reportedly began after police used force to disperse workers who had gathered on their weekly day off. Angered by the action, the person identifying himself as ‘Chhota Yogi’ allegedly contacted Patil over the phone and subsequently posted a video of the conversation on Instagram.
According to the complaint, the video contained threatening remarks warning of an intense agitation across Gujarat. The complainant alleged that the content was circulated to provoke unrest and create hostility among the public.
