SURAT : Surat’s textile, diamond and engineering businesses are being encouraged to look beyond domestic markets, with the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) highlighting Dubai...
At a special session on Global Business Opportunities with Dubai Airport Freezone, senior DAFZ officials outlined the facilities available to Indian entrepreneurs seeking to establish overseas trading units, offices and distribution networks. The session was organised by SGCCI’s Global Connect Committee at the Chamber’s Samruddhi Bhavan in Nanpura, Surat, on October 6.
SGCCI president Ashok Jirawala said local manufacturers needed to take their products directly to global markets and leverage Dubai’s position as an international business and logistics hub.
Surat is a manufacturing powerhouse in textiles, diamonds, jewellery and engineering. The time has come for our MSME units in South Gujarat to move beyond local boundaries and reach global markets directly,” Jirawala said.
He added that DAFZ could provide a platform for businesses to expand their reach across the Middle East, Africa and Europe, with the Chamber working to connect regional industries with international opportunities.
