Nepal Floods: 11 People From Gujarat Reported Missing Or Uncontactable, One Confirmed Safe

The Gujarat administration has stepped up efforts to trace travellers from the state who were reported missing or remained uncontactable following the devastating floods in Nepal. An official “Nepal Flash Flood: Missing Persons Information, Gujarat” sheet, updated as of 3:02 pm on August 27, contains details of the affected travellers.

Several of those listed were travelling on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, including via the Kerung route. The affected people are linked to Ahmedabad, Anand, Rajkot, Surat, Valsad and other locations.

Among those listed, Roma Dilipbhai Intwala of Valsad has been confirmed safe in Nepal. The Valsad Mamlatdar informed authorities that she was safe in the country. Her last known location was around the Friendship Bridge/Bhote Koshi River near the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung border.

Kinnari Patel and Mihir Patel were travelling on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Kerung, while Bimalkumar Patel and Jaiminaben Patel were also on a Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage. Their last contact was reported on the previous morning in the official record.

Three Surat-linked travellers — Pareshbhai Natvarlal Patel, Jyotiben Pareshbhai Patel and Minaxiben Sanjaybhai Ramani — were travelling with Richa Tours Nepal for the Kailash Mansarovar journey. The report states that contact had not been established with them in the previous 24 hours.
