Construction is expected to begin after approval of the first instalment of ₹8 crore. The planning and cost estimation process is in its final stage, and the tender process is expected to be completed within the next three months. Construction is likely to begin within two to three months.
The new building will bring the university’s administrative departments together, allowing students to access fee counters, counselling and enquiry services at a single location. More than 200 employees will also be able to work from the same complex.
The proposed G+2-storey building will have an amphitheatre-style open courtyard on the ground floor for live lectures and academic activities. A seminar hall will also be part of the complex.
The building will follow a green-building concept, with motion sensor-based lighting designed to switch off automatically when employees are absent. Provision will also be made for installing solar panels in the future.
Other planned facilities include separate meeting rooms for each section, a recreation room for employees, a refreshment centre for visitors, and ramps and lifts for persons with disabilities.
