However, the sudden push for live kitchen streaming caused confusion among small restaurants and roadside eateries.
The municipal corporation has therefore given establishments two months to comply, while Food Department teams will conduct awareness drives at restaurants, dhabas and canteens of all sizes.
An advisory has been issued asking restaurants to install arrangements that allow customers to view kitchen activities live.
Food Department official Brahmbhatt said smaller restaurants, dhabas and canteens may not be aware of the requirement, so officials will first focus on creating awareness and explaining the process.
