A 22-foot-tall eco-friendly Ganesh idol made of tissue paper will be adorned with gold and silver jewellery worth ₹50 lakh.
The festival’s biggest attraction is its innovative efforts to connect the younger generation, or Gen-Z, with Indian culture and devotion. Organisers have introduced initiatives such as bhajan clubbing to make traditional devotion more appealing to youngsters.
Insurance cover of ₹100 crore to ₹110 crore has also been taken for the safety of 10 lakh visitors and the entire pandal.
For the first time in Gujarat, a woman is leading a Ganeshotsav mandal. Mandal president Pooja Patel said, “Our effort is to show that women can also lead an event of this scale.”
Innovative initiatives such as bhajan clubbing and jamming were organised during the 11-day cultural programme.
