Gujarat Bureaucratic Resuffle: Rajkumar Beniwal Appointed Surat Municipal Commissioner in Major IAS Shake-Up

The Gujarat government has rolled out a major administrative reshuffle involving senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across key departments and corporations. Issued by the General Administration Department in Gandhinagar, the latest notification details crucial transfers and additional charges spanning urban bodies, revenue, and state-run enterprises.

Senior IAS officer Shri Rajkumar Beniwal (RR:GJ:2004), previously serving as the Managing Director of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. (GNVFC) in Bharuch, has been transferred and posted as the new Surat Municipal Commissioner . He takes over the role at the Surat Municipal Corporation, relieving Shri Tejas Parmar of the additional charge.

To fill the vacancy left by Beniwal at GNVFC, Shri Sanjeev Kumar (RR:GJ:1998), Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been assigned the additional charge of Managing Director until further orders.
