The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) will operate around 9,100 extra buses from Surat to 19 cities between November 4 and November 9 to manage the Diwali homecoming rush.
The additional services will cater to passengers travelling to Saurashtra, North Gujarat and Central Gujarat. Advance reservations and group booking facilities will be available to help passengers secure seats during the festive period.
The Surat Division of GSRTC has allocated the highest number of additional buses to destinations across Saurashtra, where many Surat residents travel to celebrate Diwali with their families.
Extra services will also connect passengers to cities in North Gujarat and Central Gujarat. Buses will depart from designated bus stations and pickup points across Surat.
According to the Surat Division's plan, most additional services will operate between 4 pm and 10 pm to accommodate passengers travelling after work.
