Reported by Bhaskar English
The man assaulted passengers and sprayed a fire extinguisher at them during the journey. He was taken off the train when it reached Surat and brought to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) post. During preliminary questioning, he suddenly became unconscious and collapsed.
He was rushed to SMIMER Hospital by a 108 ambulance, where doctors declared him dead.
The train had departed from Bandra Terminus when the RPF control room received information that a foreign national was creating a disturbance in a general coach.
RPF personnel reached the coach and found the man arguing with passengers. They reportedly tried to calm him down by speaking to him in English, but he allegedly became more aggressive.
The situation escalated when the man removed a fire extinguisher installed inside the train and sprayed it at passengers.
