Fake ghee factory busted in Kamrej: 5,157 litres ghee & 1,770 kg oil seized; 987 litres adulterated ghee fo

Acting on the instructions of Health Minister Praful Pansheriya, officials seized suspected adulterated ghee and oils worth more than ₹35 lakh from multiple locations.

During the inspection, officials found that the factory was operating without a valid licence. The premises had been locked from outside, while officials allegedly found ghee being manufactured and packed inside under the branding of genuine products.

Officials recovered 5,157 litres of ghee packed in various sizes under the 'Shree Anmol Ratan Cow Ghee' brand. The seized stock was valued at around ₹26.12 lakh. The entire quantity was confiscated by the department.

Officials also recovered 1,485 kg of palmolein oil and 285 kg of soybean oil from the premises. The combined quantity of 1,770 kg was valued at around ₹3.63 lakh. Samples of the ghee and oils have been collected and sent to a laboratory for testing.

Meanwhile, the Palanpur Circle team inspected several establishments in Deesa city, Banaskantha, and confiscated 987 litres of suspected adulterated ghee.
