Cyber fraud gang busted in hotel raid: PNB One APK files hacked 31,000 phones and duped 5,613 people of ₹12

4 accused were arrested from a hotel in Patna, where they were sleeping when the police team raided the premises. The investigation has revealed the gang's links to the Jamtara cybercrime network.

They would prepare fake APK files, and the gang would send them to different mobile numbers across the country. Whichever mobile user opened the file, they would hack all the data from their mobile.

They would also immediately withdraw money using bank details. So far, the gang has hacked 31,174 mobiles and transferred ₹125 crores, it has been revealed.

₹125 crore fraud uncovered in investigation of ₹5 lakh fraud case A case of ₹5 lakh fraud with a person from Surat came before the police. In which the accused created a fake "PNB One.APK" file in the name of Punjab National Bank between 15th and 18th May and sent it to the complainant.

As soon as the complainant downloaded it on the mobile, complete access to the phone went to the accused, and without his knowledge, ₹5 lakh were withdrawn.
