BJP Leader’s Son Detained After Ramming 15 Vehicles

A man identified as Yash Rathod, the son of an Olpad Taluka Panchayat BJP leader, was detained after allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and ramming around 15 vehicles in Surat’s Palanpur Patiya area.

The incident occurred in the busy Palanpur Patiya area, where a speeding car reportedly went out of control and struck around 15 vehicles, including moving cars and parked vehicles. Several vehicles were badly damaged, triggering panic and anger among local residents.

After the collisions, the driver allegedly tried to flee. People gathered at the spot, surrounded him and handed him over to the police.

Preliminary police investigations identified the driver as Yash Rathod, who runs a grocery store in Olpad, around 40 km from Surat.

According to reports, Rathod had travelled to Surat to meet a friend. The two allegedly consumed alcohol at the friend’s residence before taking a car onto the road.
