Gujarat received widespread rainfall over the past 24 hours, with Balasinor in Mahisagar and Kathlal in Kheda recording the highest rainfall of three inches each. Vaghai in Dang received 2.25 inches, while 12 other talukas recorded more than one inch of rain.
The state has so far received 501.6mm (19.72 inches) of rainfall against the normal 494.5mm (19.44 inches), making the season's rainfall 1% above average. Between 6am and 8am today (15 Aug), 29 talukas recorded rainfall ranging from 1mm to 9mm.
Significant fluctuations in temperatures were recorded across Gujarat's major cities on August 13 and 14. Daman witnessed a sharp 4.4°C drop in temperature, while Surat remained the coolest major city for the second consecutive day.
