Looking for a great way to support your community? The San Diego Police Department’s Northwestern Division is seeking men and women to join its Volunteer Patrol program.
The Volunteer Patrol teams assist Northwestern Division officers in providing a greater level of safety and support for the communities of Carmel Valley, Pacific Highlands Ranch, Torrey Highlands, and Sorrento Valley. The volunteers regularly patrol neighborhoods, shopping centers, provide vacation home and security checks, perform welfare checks for homebound residents, and assist officers with traffic control and parking violations. The volunteers also participate in community events, and sponsor first-aid programs for local schools and recreation centers. The services performed by the SDPD Volunteer Patrol teams allow police officers more time to focus on higher priority issues that better serve and protect the community, a news release stated.
