UC San Diego Today spoke with three postdoctoral scholars about their research, why they chose to pursue a career in academia and what continues to inspire them.
I’d describe myself as a drug hunter with a curious mind. My research lies at the intersection of medicinal and synthetic chemistry, focusing on the design and synthesis of novel vaccine adjuvants to advance next-generation immunotherapies. I have always been passionate about medicinal chemistry and its potential to transform an idea into meaningful solutions in healthcare. Seeing a challenging idea develop into a successful product that has the potential to improve the lives of thousands of people is the most rewarding aspect of my job.
