Mumbai’s Sion Railway Overbridge has reopened to vehicular traffic following the completion of reconstruction work, allowing the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking to restore the original routes of 14 bus services. The bridge had been closed for reconstruction since June 30, 2024, forcing buses to take diversions through Sion, Dharavi and neighbouring areas. The restoration, effective October 23, 2026, improves connectivity towards Kalanagar, Mahim and Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg. BEST has also revised the route of its air-conditioned A-176 service, while bus A-356 will continue operating on its existing route.
