Navi Mumbai airport adds nine domestic destinations; passenger traffic crosses 3.5 million

Navi Mumbai International Airport has added nine domestic destinations: Agatti via Goa-Mopa, Darbhanga, Guwahati, Jalgaon, Jodhpur, Ranchi, Bagdogra, Sindhudurg and Udaipur. The airport said it has handled about 3.59 million passengers since it began commercial operations on December 25 last year, almost all of them domestic, along with 27,185 scheduled aircraft movements. Within three months of starting international cargo operations, it has seen 18 freighter airlines serve 45 destinations. An airport spokesperson said the new routes will improve access to regional markets and support tourism, trade and economic growth.
