Mumbai local train services on parts of the Central Railway network are facing a scheduled megablock today as essential engineering and maintenance work is carried out on the Main Line and Trans-Harbour suburban sections.
The block on the Main Line will affect both the up and down slow lines between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Vidyavihar from 10.55 am to 3.55 pm. During this period, commuters using the affected section may face changes to normal train operations.
On the Trans-Harbour Line, services between Thane and Vashi, Nerul and Panvel will remain suspended from 11.10 am to 4.10 pm. The suspension covers the key cross-harbour suburban corridor connecting Thane with destinations in Navi Mumbai.
Central Railway is carrying out the work as part of essential engineering and maintenance activity. The railway administration has requested passengers to bear with the inconvenience while the block is in force.
Services on other parts of the suburban network will follow a different operating plan. Harbour Line trains between CSMT and Goregaon, and between CSMT and Panvel, will run according to the standard Sunday schedule. Port Line trains between Nerul or Belapur and Uran will also operate as per the standard Sunday timetable.
