Noida, Oct 22 (APAC Media): Gold and silver prices declined in the domestic market on Thursday, amid weakness in international bullion prices and investor caution ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s monetary policy meeting.
In the international market, spot gold fell 1.22% to $4,090.51 per ounce, while spot silver dropped 2.73% to $56.394 per ounce. Domestic bullion prices also remained under pressure as investors assessed global economic developments, inflation concerns and the outlook for interest rates.
According to retail price data, gold and silver rates varied across major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.
Precious metal prices have come under pressure as investors evaluate the outlook for US monetary policy. The Federal Reserve’s scheduled meeting on October 27-28 is expected to remain a key factor influencing market sentiment.
Interest rate expectations, movements in the US dollar and bond yields can affect demand for gold, which does not offer interest income. Silver prices are influenced by similar factors, alongside industrial demand and broader economic conditions.
