New Delhi: Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has launched a month-long outreach campaign to familiarise with the land pooling policy and encourage their participation in planned urban development. This campaign follows directions from lieutenant governor TS Sandhu.
Interactive programmes have so far been held in Bakkarwala, Tigipur and Sultanpur Dabas, covering planning zones K-1, P-II and N, respectively. Landowners expressed willingness to participate and sought clarifications from officials, who said the road network plan and details of land parcels would be notified shortly. Further camps are scheduled in Chhawla, Saranpur, Neb Sarai, Khera Kalan and Mukhmelpur.
The campaign, under Reform Utsav, aims to address stakeholders’ concerns, explain development models and facilitate implementation of the land pooling policy, a key component of the Master Plan for Delhi 2047, said officials.
The policy covers nearly 200 sq km, with the potential to create around 12 lakh homes and develop more than 600 km of additional roads. It enables landowners to voluntarily pool their land for planned development in partnership with DDA and private entities. The development framework envisages integrated neighbourhoods with roads, utilities, schools, healthcare facilities, parks and commercial centres.
