New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Monday directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to provide built up spaces for police stations, chowkis and beats in Narela, stressing the need for a stronger police presence to address criminal and drug related activities in the area.
During his visit to the sub city, Sandhu inspected DDA’s ready-to-move-in flats in Pocket 11, Sectors A1-A4, and reviewed the infrastructure and civic facilities being developed alongside the housing projects. He said adequate security, essential public facilities and well maintained public spaces must accompany housing development.
The L-G also reviewed the work being carried out by different government agencies, including the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for sanitation and other services, Delhi Jal Board (DJB) for water supply and sewerage, Delhi Police for security and the Transport Department for DTC connectivity.
Sandhu said providing all necessary services to residents could not be delayed and that he would continue monitoring the rollout of infrastructure in Narela. He also highlighted the demand for DDA’s ready-to-move-in flats, noting that several housing schemes, including Shramjeevi and Karmajeevi Awas Yojana, had witnessed brisk sales, with flats being sold within hours of registration opening.
