A man opened up about an uncomfortable cab ride in Delhi, which has now sparked a discussion about driver behaviour, road safety and the challenges of navigating the national capital. Recalling a Canadian tourist’s observations about the city, Dr Anshul Sadhale shared his recent experience with a cab driver.
In a post on X, Sadhale said a Canadian he met during his trip to Vietnam had described Delhi as an “intense” city, where even everyday activities such as booking a cab or stepping out of a hotel for a walk could feel difficult. The doctor said his recent cab ride reminded him of that conversation.
The Canadian I met on my Vietnam trip described Delhi as intense and doing basic stuff like booking a cab, getting out of hotel to walk as tough,” he wrote.
Describing the incident, Sadhale claimed that the driver did not wear a seat belt and waited for the warning sound to stop. He also alleged that the driver spoke loudly on a phone call while driving. “Today, this cab driver didn’t wear the belt, waited for the sound to go off, spoke loudly on call while driving,” he added.
Zero manner,” Sadhale said, adding that he had booked an air-conditioned car through Rapido. He also explained why he generally avoids arguing with drivers in such situations, saying he fears being harassed or potentially harmed.
