Delhi NCR has the audience, spending power and appetite for live music. Yet, as international artists expand their presence in India, the region continues to face questions about its ability to attract a larger share of global concerts. Industry leaders point to a combination of regulatory hurdles, infrastructure gaps, rising costs and sponsorship restrictions that can make staging large-scale events more challenging.
For a market spanning Delhi, Gurugram and Noida, the opportunity is substantial. Its urban population, corporate base, hospitality infrastructure and potential for brand investment make it a compelling destination for international touring acts. However, audience demand alone does not determine where a concert takes place. Promoters must also evaluate venue suitability, production capabilities, permissions, crowd management, logistics and the economics of staging a show.
The challenge, industry leaders argue, is to translate Delhi NCR’s audience potential into an ecosystem that can support international productions consistently and commercially.
The Infrastructure & Regulatory Challenge Deepak Choudhary, President, EEMA, believes Delhi NCR has the potential to compete more effectively for international tours, but needs a stronger ecosystem to support them.
