Reported by Bhaskar English
The complaint was registered at Khatodara Police Station under provisions relating to abetment of suicide and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Harsh’s father, Subhashchandra, has alleged that the four senior doctors targeted his son after learning that he belonged to the Scheduled Caste community.
According to the complaint, the seniors allegedly assigned him excessive work, repeatedly made caste-based remarks and subjected him to humiliating behaviour.
The family has further alleged that the sustained workload and harassment became unbearable and drove Harsh to take the extreme step.
Police have begun investigating the allegations and the circumstances surrounding the resident doctor’s death.
